FWIW, In cases where a real parallel port is missing (happens all the time now), you can easily and quite cheaply use an Arduino-type microcontroller instead. Easily programmed, comes in 3.3V and 5V versions (for the I/O pins), and many (most?) versions have usb already on board. HTH -- Regards, Torfinn Ingolfsen
