I went to school with his grandson Eric, and his son Bob was my High School 
Physics teacher.

Needless to say, we did *A LOT* of stroboscope experiments!

I believe Bob went on to work for Stan Ovshinsky at Energy Conversion Devices 
(creator of NiMH batteries among other cool things.)
