The SP0256A-AL2 was made by General Instrument which morphed into Microchip Technology <http://www.microchip.com/>. There is a companion CTS256A-AL2 that holds a text-to-phoneme assembler in it, I've had the pair for 10 years but haven't hooked them up yet.
