I note that "SCAMP" has be (re) used several times in the bit-bashing biz.

The NS SC/MP (INS8060) MPU was regularly called "Scamp".  Unisys also
had a multi-chip module for their "A" series mainframes called "Scamp":

...and then there's the German Shepherd crossbred dog that lives across
