Modern "special sauce" replacements from Dallas/Maxim/Analog/etc., plus a fast, low-power SRAM, all packaged on a circuit board with Batten & Allen DIP leadframe pins, like this: https://users.glitchwrks.com/~glitch/2018/03/17/gw-1244-1 (note that the Phantom RTC chip used in that is *not* what would be needed for Sun-style NVRAMs) Thanks, Jonathan
