Yoy may jest, but... That old-school dimmer is just doing pulse-width modulation. If you tweak it slightly and make the pulses equal-weight (e.g. by using delta-sigma modulation) and call the pulses "quanta" then you basically have one of the competing credible theories put forwards by proper theoretical physicists on how gravity works. The "high enough frequency" for quantum gravity is of course slightly greater than 50 or 60Hz.
