Lots of companies created 6 bit character sets, all different.

For extra fun take a look at 6-bit (punched tape) codes used for typesetting 
machines.  They include shift codes (for shifting between Roman and Italic), 
upper and lower case letters, all manner of interesting punctuation marks, and 
more.  There too you're likely to find a different code set for any given 
manufacturer, and possibly changing from one machine model to the next.
