Quite likely.  Not knowing anything about folks' extended skillsets around here 
(staying
on topic does that) I can only speak to what I know.

That would make sense.  I don't think it would compromise the strength of the 
bows of
the keys that would be cut out of it.

That also makes sense.  If, in the process of construction a test fit bore that 
out
I'd call it a happy coincidence and run with it.
