There is. I've been using SNOBOL periodically for the last 25 years, having written some two dozen string-processing programs (e.g., an e-mail reformatter and archiver, and a control-file generator for Eric Smith's "tumble" program to process TIFF scans into PDF manuals). Last one updated about a year ago. Largest program about 2600 lines including comments. > Anybody remember SPITBOL? I'm currently using a SPITBOL compiler, originally from Catspaw: http://www.snobol4.com/ ...now available from GitHub: https://github.com/spitbol Works like a champ! -- Dave
