Interface Designer/Human Factors Specialist: Provide User-Centered Design
support and leadership to project teams supporting a federal agency. This
includes the ability to derive business processes, analyze user needs,
assist in requirements definition, design browser-based interfaces, and
design and conduct usability testing.
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors
Engineering, Visual Design, Instructional Systems Design, or similar
- Direct Interaction/Interface design experience of 10+ years
to include User-Centered Methods and User Analysis
- Ability to take lead role in interacting with clients and
users
- Experience in eliciting user-interface requirements from user
representatives
- Experience in iterative prototyping of web pages
- Experience creating personas/user profiles
- Experience creating scenarios and task-flows
- Experience designing and refining web pages
- Experience designing and conducting usability tests in both
formal and informal settings
- Ability to document user requirements and design
recommendations
- Ability to prepare and present findings and recommendations
in large and small group settings
- Ability to lead project design and usability testing teams
- Ability to communicate usability principles to non-usability
audience
- Ability to mentor team members
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams under tight
timeframes
- Capability to handle sensitive and complex issues with
discretion and good judgment
Additional desired skills include:
Graduate degree in Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors
Engineering, Visual Design, Instructional Systems Design, or similar
