Definitely, yes! I guess you have copied over .cf files for example. Maybe you could publish a separate git branch somewhere for this? I was using SF's "clone" facility to create http://sourceforge.net/u/saperski/cde-freebsd/ for some work in progress for testing (now it's synchronized to current master as I don't have lots of outstanding stuff).
