Hello,
during the last weeks I've played around a little bit with dtinfo.
I can now compile everything of it on Linux and FreeBSD. It was tested
with Xubuntu 12.04.1 (32 and 64bit) and FreeBSD 9.0 (also 32 and 64bit).
But the binaries are not yet running on all platforms. Dtinfo itself
runs only on Linux but has no documents as input. On FreeBSD it core
dumps with a segfault.
The dtinfogen binaries which are needed to generate the documents
still have problems on all platforms and are only partly running.
Nevertheless I'ld like to post my current dtinfo code as patches.
This way others can test the build on other linux distributions or
can help to find the remaining errors.
Here's a short list with the main topics I've done so far:
- fixed a lot of syntax errors (mainly forced by old c++ code)
- removed dtinfo config directory in favour of standard config
- partly rewritten exception handling
- partly rewritten c++ template classes
- fixed a lot of 'undefined reference' linker messages
- fixed thousands of warnings
And here's the TODO list:
- fix the remaining errors in dtinfogen binaries
- create the documents under doc/C/guides
- Motif document sources are missing in CDE or OpenMotif
- fix dtinfo on FreeBSD
- fix some exceptions on dtinfo for Linux
- fix many other minor bugs
ok, long text :-), I will now prepare the patches and can hopefully
send them tomorrow.
