There is a problem with your blog. The link to the PDF file: http://blog.developpez.com/andriamilamina/files/2013/08/CDE_2.2.0d+Slackware_14.0.pdf returns a 404 error. The blog entry itself does not contain any detail about the Slackware installation.
I have a page (in French unfortunately) describing the installation on Slackware 13 of CDE 2.2.0c. http://edmond.orignac.pagesperso-orange.fr/motif.html Since then, I have found Slackbuild scripts for CDE http://slackermedia.info/slackbuilds/cde/ that should automate the steps described in details on the page. The main difficulty with Slackware 13 was with the replacement of Lesstif with LGPL Motif. Uninstalling Lesstif with pkgtool removed /usr/lib/X11/config/host.def (bad for imake) and the Slackbuild script for Motif from slackbuilds.org was obsolete. After installing Motif, xdvi and xpdf must be recompiled from source. After that, following instructions on the CDE wiki was enough to install CDE 2.2.0c. I know that Slackware-current and Slackware 14.0 still use the Lesstif library although its developers seem to have abandoned it. So the part on Lesstif still applies. What about CDE 2.2.0d ? Have you discovered some new problems when installing on Slackware 14 ? Using dtcm in CDE 2.2.0c, I noticed 3 bugs. 1) There seems to be some issues with timezone definition. If I want to enter an appointment starting at 8:00am, I must enter 9:00am as starting time so that it appears in the calendar at the right time and the alarm appears also at the right time. My timezone is 'Europe/Paris' and because of Daylight Saving Time, my time is currently UTC+2, but the hour I enter is treated as if it was UTC+3. I don't know what will happen after the legal hour returns to UTC+1. 2) If I want to modify an entry on a certain day, I must click on the next day in the week(or month) view of the calendar to see the entry appearing in the appointment editor window under "Time What". 3) Entries that I have deleted from the calendar in a previous CDE session reappear after an log out and log in again. I have obtained that behavior for entries that repeat over a few days or entries that repeat every week. Have any of these bugs been corrected in CDE 2.2.0d ? Can they be reproduced on other platforms (other Linux distributions, Unix System V or BSD systems) ?
