I just submitted a long email about the JChemPaint patches against CDK 1.3.x (aka master) to the cdk-jchempaint mailing list. > I'm currently using the CDK v1.2.2 (in the recent new cdk versions, > the 2D rendering classes have been removed from the cdk, so I have to > keep this version), and another java package to perform the sketching > job. This summer I backported the JChemPaint patches against CDK 1.3.x to the 1.2.x branch. You could use those. That backport, however, is the JChemPaint patches at that moment. > As I'm guessing that the 2D rendering classes are now in the JCP, There patch versions in JChemPaint 3.0 Applet/Application, and in CDK-JChemPaint (formerly called JChemPaint-Primary). See the other email about how to use the CDK-JChemPaint patches with CDK 1.3.1. > I'm planning to add the JCP jar file to my project, and take this > opportunity to use JCP as sketcher. What widget set do you intend to use? I will maintain CDK-JChemPaint against the latest CDK release from the 1.3.x series, which is now 1.3.1. > - If not, how can I use both jar file in a same project without > comflicts? The CDK package (standalone) is located at > org.openscience.cdk(...), and has the exact same package path in the > JCP jar file, which I think could be a bit confusing for EDIs. You can download a CDK+JChemPaint .jar from nightly at: http://pele.farmbio.uu.se/nightly-jcp/ The "Combined CDK jar files" jar linked to at the top of the page. The binary JChemPaint 3.0 Applet/Application release will offer something similar. If you are using the Eclipse platform, I can recommend looking at the Bioclipse bioclipse.cheminformatics repository for ready-to-use Eclipse bundles.
