Price is always a relative thing, value is a much better standard.
Given the alternative, the value of OpenOffice.org should be somewhere
around AU$700, but the idea is to empower as many people as possible,
so I price the 2 install CDs mailed to anywhere in Australia at $15.
But I used to package other Open Source software with OpenOffice.org
(Windows and Linux only) to provide even better value, as most of my
customers were "at the end of the copper wire" meaning they did not
have access to broadband. Now I offer the standard 2 CD set or a
custom CD with ssome other stuff they would like but cannot possibly
download. So the other day, for example, I built a CD of a PPC version
of OO0, and the Gimp., Mozilla and Firefox, and Tbird, and a free
version of a Spanish language tutor. $15
I am not run off my feet with orders, maybe 2 per month, sometimes 5,
but no more than that.
