Hello. My name is Harrison Neal, and I am the "Senior Technician" of a
small business named Database Plus, Inc. D.B.A. The Computer Guys of
Amelia Island. We are requesting permission to distribute OpenOffice.org
on CD-ROMs, in addition to Computers we put together and/or
install/reinstall an OS on with a Customer's Permission. Further, we
would like permission to use OpenOffice.org logos in a link to be added
on our website to OpenOffice.org, along with CD Labels. The reason
behind this is to discourage installing older versions of Microsoft
Office on multiple Computers without permission, which, unfortunately,
seems to be commonplace within our community.
For the most part, the role of our company is limited to repairing
computers in various ways (removing viruses, installing OSes along with
Software, troubleshooting, etc.). The company website is located at
http://www.ohcomputerguy.com/ (Yes, I know, it is one large
template...), and we are located in Amelia Island, FL, USA (North of
Jacksonville, FL, USA).
We were intending to distribute CDs burned from the ISOs that you have
provided, as the file on your website for a suggested CD Tree appears to
be missing. If you would prefer that we use the suggested CD Tree,
please reply with a copy of the suggested CD Tree, or let us know that
the file is again available. If distributing CDs burned from the
provided ISOs is acceptable, since we primarily work with Windows
Computers (with the occasional dash of Linux and Mac OS X), we will
probably distribute the first CD (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X), and the
third CD (Extra Documentation, Open Clip Art, etc.). We would distribute
these CDs to Customers that either request them, don't have an Office
Suite on their Computer and accept them, or have us install
OpenOffice.org on their Computer.
If there are any issues or suggestions you might have in regards to us
distributing OpenOffice.org, please point those out in your reply.
Thanks in advance,
-Harrison Neal
