From our point of view, you would be welcome to pre-load OpenOffice.org (OO.o) on your products. However..... > > > > I noticed that another laptop PC from another manufacturer had it > preloaded. I suspect you might be referring to the Asus Eee... There may be a major problem for you. I notice that your forthcoming tablet is using Win CE on ARM, with 128 MB internal and 128 MB external storage. Firstly, I'm not sure whether OpenOffice.org will run on Win CE (Probably, but it would be better to check the Porting project <http://porting.openoffice.org>). Secondly, I'm not sure how far the Porting project has got with porting the software to the ARM processor. All the other laptops which have OO.o pre-installed are running Intel or AMD processors, and either Windows XP/Vista or a flavour of Linux. It is possible that you might need to get the source and do your own build to suit the CPU/OS combination. So while we would love to see OO.o on a tablet, I think it only fair to let you know of the potential problems (none of which are really insurmountable). If you do need to build your own, you would be well advised to join the Porting project, as that is where you will get the best help and guidance. > > > > Please let me know when you get a chance… > > > > Albatron Techology is a manufacturer and distributor of Mainboards, VGAs, > Touch Monitors and Tablet PCs (www.albatron.com.tw) > > > > Many Thanks, > > > > Sam Nada (Albatron Technology) -- Alex Fisher Co-Lead, CD-ROM Project OpenOffice.org Marketing Community Contact Australia/New Zealand http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/
