Dear Alex Fisher,
My listings for OpenOffice.org CDs have been removed by ebaY's Trust &
Safety Team, stating that they "violated the eBay Recordable Media
policy. Listings that offer media in CD-R or DVD-R format can only be
listed by the owner of the intellectual property or by a person
authorized by the intellectual property owner to distribute it."
To the best of my understanding, I am authorized by OpenOffice.org to
distribute its CD as can be seen in the following
[email protected] thread:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=cdrom&msgNo=2729
Yet, despite providing this link to ebaY's Trust & Safety Team, its
response was:
"The eBay Trust and Safety team has reviewed this matter several times.
We have determined that the action taken was appropriate in this case.We
will not review your account again or respond to further emails from you
regarding this matter unless they contain new information."
Any idea what kind of "new information" ebaY is requesting?
Is it possible that they require a direct letter from you (or other
authorized OpenOffice.org official)?
Could you please help me resolve this matter with ebaY?
Thanks,
Daniel
