I know that Any Shiels will send you his crib sheet on becoming a distributor, so this is my personal "Welcome to the Community". I am based in Bayswater, and I re-package OpenOffice.org so that the disks I send out contain the very best that Open Source has to offer. I have a special issue of OpenOffice.org . It normally comes on 2 CDs with versions for Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac. I prune the Solaris and Linux versions and include some excellent Open Source Software. Graphics Software: The Gimp, pixel based image manipulation like Photoshop; Scribus, desktop Publishing like Quark Express; and Inkscape, Vector Graphics like Adobe Illustrator. Browsers& Mail: The latest Firefox and Camino (for Mac) browsers, Thunderbird email client and Sunbird and Lightning calendar applications. Lightning is a plugin for Thunderbird, and this makes it a very strong competitor with MS Outlook. Sunbird is a stand-alone calendar application. 7-Zip a freeware zip utility, Foxit Reader, a freeware pdf Reader, some issues of Tux magazine with great articles on using OOo. VLC media player, Open Source region immune video player. GnuCash 2.5 for Windows, I have been using the Linux version of this for the past 3 years. OpenOffice.org Official Extras disk contains, Clip Art, Templates, Dictionaries, and Thesaurii, also documentation and licences Price $20.00 for 2 CD set Version 3.1 (latest) I would be happy to send you a set of disks at no charge, to assist in your start up. It would be helpful if you had a look at the documentation I include and then either use it or modify it to reflect the provision by the Community House. If you wanted to edit anything, just drop me an email and I would send you the original documents in .odt format. You could make the necessary changes and then export as pdf. Again, welcome!
