You might like to take a look at OpenOffice Portable <http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable>.
This is a "version" of OpenOffice.org (OO.o) specifically designed to run from a USB key, and it works really well (I've used it to run OO.o on machines where it was forbidden to install anything).
