I would guess thats a ISO9660 with Joliet-extensions *only*. 
I don't know what options you used to mkisofs to tell it about these previous
sessions (README.multi in the cdrecord documentation).

To recover data on the first sessions I would recommend cdfs. This is an
alternate cd kernel module. It allows you to see all sessions on a CD and to
mount these via the "loop" option to mount. This is a Linux only solution, if
you have a different OS You'll have to wait for other answers.
