The last session of a multi-session CD contains a directory that (usually)
contains details of the files in the last session and files in the
previous seesion.
The -M option is used so mkisofs can find the details of the files in the
previous session - by reading the existing directory information.
The output from mkisofs when used in this mode is the last session - this
output must the be written as the next session on the CD. Use cdrecord to
do this - mkisofs does not write anything to a CD.
The -M option should be used with the -C option to tell mkisofs where the
last session should start from.
Hope this helps
