Hi,
Thanks for the followup, including the named-pipe trick. But.. I could
not get 'readcd | cdrecord' to work. The problem is as before. eg. I tried, as
a demo,

pc87:/opt/schily# readcd -version
readcd 1.10a09 (i586-pc-linux-gnulibc1) Copyright (C) 1987, 1995-2000 Jrg Schilling
pc87:/opt/schily# readcd dev=1,0 f=- | less

The cutting&pasting from the 'less' session gives,

Capacity: 271306 Blocks = 623155 kBytes = 608 MBytes = 638 prMB
Sectorsize: 2352 Bytes
Capacity: 271306 Blocks = 623155 kBytes = 608 MBytes = 638 prMB
Sectorsize: 2352 Bytes

^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@
etc.

That is, the binary stuff from the beginning of the CD image is prepended
(ie. corrupted) by the 'Capacity: 271306 Blocks = 623155' etc. stdout blurb
from readcd. Argh!

Without the 'f=', eg.,

cdread dev=1,0 | less

just gives a list of options. What am I doing wrong??

Tom.
