(using mkisofs 1.14a13 (i386-pc-os2_emx) on OS/2 Warp 4)
I have a CD which has this directory:
[e:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem]dir
Volume in drive E is Serial number is 4F21:5A9A
Directory of E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\*
11-28-98 12:15 <DIR> 0 .
11-28-98 12:15 <DIR> 0 ..
2-24-98 9:14 <DIR> 0 appdll
2-24-98 9:14 <DIR> 0 inc
2-24-98 9:14 <DIR> 0 perfdll
2-24-98 9:14 <DIR> 0 pub
2-24-98 9:14 274 0 makefile
2-24-98 9:14 1,483 0 readme.txt
1,757 bytes in 2 files and 6 dirs 12,288 bytes allocated
0 bytes free
As you can see, there are 4 subdirectories under this directory, and each
has files. For instance:
E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\appdll\appmema.c
E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\appdll\appmema.def
E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\appdll\appmema.h
E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\appdll\appmema.rc
E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\appdll\dllinit.c
E:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem\appdll\makefile
I used this mkisofs command to make an ISO image:
mkisofs -iso-level 3 -relaxed-filenames -no-iso-translate -pad -o
d:\watcom.iso
But when I burned the CD, I got this result:
[f:\sdk\samples\win32\winnt\perftool\dll\appmem]dir
Volume in drive F is INSTALL Serial number is 5977:4324
Directory of F:\SDK\SAMPLES\WIN32\WINNT\PERFTOOL\DLL\APPMEM\*
2-24-98 9:14 <DIR> 0 .
2-24-98 9:14 <DIR> 0 ..
2-24-98 9:14 0 0 APPDLL
2-24-98 9:14 0 0 INC
2-24-98 9:14 274 0 MAKEFILE
2-24-98 9:14 0 0 PERFDLL
2-24-98 9:14 0 0 PUB
2-24-98 9:14 1,483 0 README.TXT
1,757 bytes in 6 files and 2 dirs 12,288 bytes allocated
0 bytes free
As you can see, those 4 subdirectories have become zero-length files, and
the files in them have been lost.
How can I get around this limitation? Obviously, it's possible to make a
CD with this many directories that can be read under OS/2 Warp, because I
have it in my hand! This CD was made using RSJ, I think (it's an old CD).
How can I get mkisofs to handle these directories?
