NOTE:  I'm trying to burn the Debian ISO, so helping me would bring someone else to Linux.

USING Windows98/CYGWIN
-----

Here's the output when I do

$ ./cdrecord.exe dev=1,0,0 -eject -v -pad -dummy -data speed=8 /DBN-1_NONUS_ISO
/binary-i386-1_NONUS.iso > error.txt 2>&1
I also tried without the -dummy mode and I recieve the same result.
I do not have directcd or any other cd-rom based programs running.

After this finishes, I did an ls -alR /cdrom and get this output

I do not believe that file was there prior to my first running of cdrecord.  Any help would be appreciated :}
