Hi all,
I've installed a FreeBSD on that machine of my previous thread
("Sucessfull writting to 6 SCSI recorders at the same time") and I get
the following output from the
cdrecord -scanbus command:
-----
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) *
0,1,0 1) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,2,0 2) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,3,0 3) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,4,0 4)
0,5,0 5)
0,6,0 6)
0,7,0 7)
scsibus1:
0,0,0 0) *
1,1,0 1) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
1,2,0 2)
1,3,0 3)
1,4,0 4)
1,5,0 5)
1,6,0 6)
1,7,0 7)

But the second SCSI controler had three MATSHITA recorders. When I moved
a
SCSI ID from one recorder of second SCSI card to the one, I got the
following
output:
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) *
0,1,0 1) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,2,0 2) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,3,0 3) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,4,0 4) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-R CW-7502 ' '1.17' Removable CD-ROM
0,5,0 5)
0,6,0 6)
0,7,0 7)
scsibus1:
0,0,0 0) *
1,1,0 1)
1,2,0 2)
1,3,0 3)
1,4,0 4)
1,5,0 5)
1,6,0 6)
1,7,0 7)

And all time I got only 4 drives enabled on the system. I've installed
the cdrecord version 1.9, the system is a FreeBSD 4.2. I've maked the
devices cd* on /dev but cdrecord looks to doesn't support devices names
on the FreeBSD system.
Hints: I've compiled a personal BSD kernel with only essential support
added on
it (including Adaptec's card), all six CD devices are detected at boot
time, the
same thind don't happen on the Linux system with the same CDrecord
version :-(
thanks
