some people wight ask why this discussion on the cdwrite
mailing list?
Well it turns out that it is a course on portable programming.
This _is_ my task as a member of the German National Open Source Center
(see www.berlios.de).
Cdrecord is a highly portable program. This is a result on thorough
knowledge in standards and portability techniques that I like
to share with others.
