I am missing the sg module (scsi generic). Without that one no burner will
work for burning (reading CD's should work though...)
And you did compile the ide-scsi module?

But I'm wondering why pcmcia-scsi is mapped to hde (that is a ide drive).
Shouldn't it be mapped on some /dev/sd* or /scd* device?
I can't find the drive in your syslog snippet. It only detects the scsi
adapter and then nothing it seems. If you've got the

But I can't help with pcmcia scsi problems in general. As soon as the drive
shows up somewhere try to talk to it by cdrecord or scan the scsi bus by:
cdrecord -scanbus

Since the don't say a word about sg module beeing needed I guess that's it --
or the detection of the drive as a whole.
