Hello,

I just installed Debian 2.2. rev.3. Unfortunately I cannot
get cdrecord which ships with it to work. I use HP CDWriter Plus 7200
and it installs as usuall as pg0. But that's it.
Here is what I get when I try tu run "cdrecord -scanbus":

Cdrecord 1.8 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Jrg Schilling
cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root.

I tried to compile new version of cdrecord but it does not help much:

Cdrecord 1.10 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2001 Jrg Schilling
./cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver.
./cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root.

Would greatly appreciate any hints.

Best wishes

Piotr
