well .. thank you for the advice ! I have checked README.copy & README.verify ... however I am still confused and NOT successfull :( I have tested as follows (wiht an original pressed Data CD): [root@linux real]# readcd -v dev=5,0 f=cd2.raw [root@linux real]# readcd -v dev=6,0 -w f=cd2.raw [root@linux real]# readcd dev=6,0 f=cd2.raw.new It was NOT possible to read in the whole selfmade CD without errors :( So I have started a new try as follows: [root@linux SuSE]# cdrecord -v dev=6,0 -isosize cd2.raw [root@linux SuSE]# readcd dev=6,0 f=cd2.raw.new It was again NOT possible to read in the whole selfmade CD without errors :( --- ]readcd: Input/output error. Error on sector 329554 not corrected. Total of 1 errors. --- The new CD image is a bit smaller compare to the original one: --- ]-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 675237888 Okt 11 23:49 cd2.raw ]-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 674758656 Okt 12 01:12 cd2.raw.new --- In BOTH cases it was not possible to read the content of the new CDs. I have not used the -dao and/or the -pad and/or the -data option. YES ... I have ALSO read the cdrecord and readcd manual ... WHAT would the appropriate command for burning of ISO CD images (like Solaris8 or Debian Linux)? (the CD ISO image exists already as a file) HOW important is the -pad option for data CDs? (ISO CD images)? Am I wrong if I am waiting exactly the same CD image of the new CD copy? (with readcd ...)
