I've got an SCSI CD-Writer, which only gives errors when I try to use
cd-record (see full log at the end of the message).
As the problem is identical on a fresh FreeBSD 4.4-Rel (with cd-record
installed from the CD as a binary package) and a recently updated
FreeBSD 4.5-RC, there is strong suspicion the drive itself is dying.
can anyone decode the ASCII dump of the SCSI error message ?
(I've also cleaned the optics, in case there was too much dust, but no
joy)
time to buy a new Yamaha 2100S ? (any recommendation for a low-cost SCSI
writer ?)
