Hi...
First, where to post? It looks like the mailing list is better than the sourceforge forums. Next, what I posted there: "After months and months of trying to get cdrdao and / or cdrecord to burn a CD w/ CD-TEXT it finally worked. This load of cdrdao worked! What I have: RedHat 7.3 (up2date ran on 2002-09-15) Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: LG Model: CD-RW CED-8083B Rev: 1.06" Next I asked what exactly you did as I wanted to take a look at the cdrdao code and the cdrecord code to see if I could get cdrecord to work for me as well. I did read the release notes about older CDRW drives and cd-text. But there appears time was spent on sub-channel stuff as well (thank you all for you hard work !!!) and I wanted to get the heads up on what files had changed for which effort. Finally on the supported drive page: http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html My LG CD-RW CED-8083B is listed (yea!) but with firmware versions 1.06, 1.09 and 1.1 !!! I realize that these listings comes from "us users" of cdrdao - but - where are people finding the 1.09 and 1.1 versions of firmware for these drives (that is, if this is accurate information). I checked the LG web page: http://www.lgeus.com/service/download.asp ...and only found http://www.lgeservice.com/CED8083BFirm106.htm ...hey, if there is somewhere else to look let me know!
