This statement is not correct

If you are the author you may put the under whatever license you like.

The _real_ problem with cdrdao is that a lot of projects including
cdrecord have been are are abused by commercial companies that take
GPLd SW and illegally use it as closed source. Now that cdrdao did the
oposite (it tried to illegally put open source but not GPLd code
under GPL) it throws bad light on GPLd SW.

Also please keep in mind that as you published libedc with an incompatble
license it is questionable that Heiko will put libedc under GPL before
all current illegal users found out what happened.
