Hello, I have a <PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W4012A. It should be able to record rewritables at 12x and CD-Rs at 40x speed.
When I burn a rewritable CD at speed=10 the reported actual speed seems to vary around 9.5x to 10.5x. When I try to burn CD-R at specified speed=32 the reported speed is 16x in the beginning. At the 3rd track it is increased to 26x. But it never reaches 32x. The medium is an Imation 32x. When trying to burn a SilverCircle 1x-48x at speed=40 the reported actual speed is 16x in the beginning and increases to 26x later. But it never reaches 40x. What is the reason thereof? Is the Plextor CD-writer worse than specified? Or are the disks worse than specified? -Hanspeter -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
