Are you sure you use on of the cdrecord variants capable of writing DVDs? http://www.abcpages.com/~mache/cdrecord-dvd.html ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/ProDVD/ It seems you try to burn a CD-R with an incompatible medium in your drive (DVD-R or similiar or even a CD-ROM?)
