/*--------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
Important Notice:

the new download address is ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/

since february 2002, the server ftp.fokus.gmd.de / ftp.fokus.fhg.de is
operated by the central infrastrtucture group and no more by Lutz Henckel and
me (the Berlios People). Next week, the old source tree will be removed by the
central infrastructure group.

For people who did mirror ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/ I did set up a
directory ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/schily/ that holds symlinks to all my
projects on Berlios.
/*--------------------------------------------------------------------------*/

2.0pre3 will most likely become 2.0-final (more or less identical)

As there have been reports for problems with padding on DVD-Video on Cygwin,
it may be that this part is not yet completely ready. Please test and report
if there are problems. Mkisofs will now abort if called with -dvd-video and
if mkisofs would otherwise try to introduce "negative" padding.

/*--------------------------------------------------------------------------*/
NEW features of cdrtools-2.0pre3:

Please have a look at the German open Source Center BerliOS at www.berlios.de
BerliOS will continue to support free hosting of cryptography projects even
when US laws change and don't allow to host cryptography projects in the USA.
Also look at sourcewell.berlios.de, the first Open Source announcement service
that itself is implemented as Open Source project.

***************** Important news ****************************

For the 'Slottable Source Plugin Module' SSPM Features read README.SSPM

***************** Please Test *********************************

There will soon be a new final release for cdrtools. Please do not send
new patches for new features before the final is out. Please note that
the DVD-Video patch was a big modification (it took a week for only cleanly
integrating the patch) so please test!

********** IMPORTANT:
In order to prepare a new major release, I now declare a code & feature freeze.
Only _very_ important Bug Fixes will be applied to the source until the next
major release has been published.

With 1.11a40 all known problems for cdrtools have been fixed.
1.11a40 is the release candidate for the upcoming next major release.
After 1.11a40 only very important and major bugs will be fixed
if this is possible in a way that definitely does not introduce new bugs.
**********

- Changelogs new

For Yamaha Disk Tatoo features read README.DiskT@2

For CD-text Autoring support read README.cdtext

        CD-text TODO:

        - Check whether the *.inf files are all from the same CD
and clear some CD-text fields that are only valid if
they relate to one CD only.

        - Add some more fields (mainly a deficiency of cdda2wav)

        - Support multi language text

        - Support character coding other than ISO-8859-1

Cdda2wav (By Heiko Eifeldt [EMAIL PROTECTED]):

- Man page for cdda2ogg added

Readcd:

Scgcheck:

Mkisofs (By Jrg Schilling and James Pearson [EMAIL PROTECTED]):

- Open the DVD-Video file *.IFO in binary mode to allow mkisofs to work
        on Win32

- Abort mkisofs if the DVD-Video paddig seems to be negative

TODO:
        - read Joliet filenames with multi-session if no TRANS.TBL
or RR is present. I am looking for a volouteer for this task:
Peter Berendi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> announced that he likes
to be the volounteer for this task.

Unfortunately, I did no hear again from him, but I got
                a proposal from
                "Krisztian Gede" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
who also likes to do the job.

Note that this can never be 100% correct as there is no relation
between the names on the master (UNIX) filesystem, the ISO-9660
names and the Joliet names. Only the Rock Ridge names are
untranslated with respect to the original files on the
                master (UNIX) filesystem.

        - implement Yellow book compliant XA extended dir attributes

        - add libecc/edc for CDI and similar.
This may not be needed if we ise VCDimager and recent
                cdrecord versions.
