Hmmmm....
I read the Hardware Compatibility notes, especially the one about Plextor PX-708 "Failed to change write speed" with >4x media...
My problem appeared similar to this, even though I'm using media that says it's 4X, so I tried the workaround listed there (even though I'm running 5.19-1 growisofs), and IT WORKS for the DD0405!
Does perhaps whatever fix was implemented for the Plextor drive possibly get a future extension to support the DD0405? :)
