Till now I always saved data DVD's without problem, but now, when trying to save
DVD-R I'm getting always that media was not recognized.
I tried this initially with k3b and after on command line.
Command issued:
growisofs -Z /dev/scd0 -R -J -V Some some/
Output:
:-( /dev/scd0: media is not recognized as recordable DVD: 0
After this command, I got the following error on messages.log: cdrom: open failed.
I tried with DVD+RW and CD-ROM and everything went OK. Command: dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/scd0 - with DVD-R inserted Output: INQUIRY: [HL-DT-ST][DVDRAM GSA-4163B][A100] GET [CURRENT] CONFIGURATION: :-( no media mounted, exiting...

I alreay googled a lot and the only reference I found was on:
http://lists.debian.org/cdwrite/2004/03/msg00170.html which I already checked,
but I don't have that file.
I've been trying to solve this problem for about 2 days without success :(.
Please help. Luis Sousa
