Background: I've been trying to find a solution why all dvd video disks burned on DVD-R fail to load on LG GSA-4167B. Burning on DVD+R disks works at least on my Sony DVD player. Specs: - LG GSA-4167B DVD-RAM internal burner with firmware version DL13 - dvd+rw-tools 5.21 (mandriva 2006.0) and 6.1 (self compiled) - mkisofs 2.01.01-0.a03.3mdk - cdrecord 2.01.01-0.a03.3mdk - various DVD+R and DVD-R media Symptom: Creating dvd video disk on DVD-R media fails to load on standard dvd player. DVD+R video disks seem to work ok. Solution: Use "-use-the-force-luke=dao" option for growisofs.
