This does not match the current problem. pengsens' drive refuses on any write mode which yields this message in wodim's output > Supported modes: while in bug=413960 the according message is: > Supported modes: TAO PACKET SAO SAO/R96P SAO/R96R RAW/R16 RAW/R96P and the wodim run fails much later in the course of processing. The one of pengsens failed before any writing began. But have a look at http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/debburn-devel/2007-February/000301.html which is still unresolved.
