I've been alerted to the debate in discussed here and plan to discuss this with our debaters. There are genuine concerns here - and as I have said I believe there are lines that can be crossed. That being said, it is exceedingly difficult to evaluate the merits of any of this without the full context. We have worked hard at trying to make explicit and immediate theoretical justifications for our argument aand performative choices. As with any debate team, I'm sure that we fall short of our goals sometimes.
We do not make the argument reffered to here as a regular part of our performances.

From Sherry:
I have been backchanneled by people who report that the performance has crossed the line to threats of sexual violence against female debaters in the room in explicit terms with the proviso that the debaters from SFSU want it "to hurt." I still don't really know what was involved in the incident last weekend, but I do think threats of sexual assault against other participants in the round cross a line.
