This is another announcement of a CEDA EC action. Earlier this year, the Pepperdine tournament was forced to conclude early due to the California fires closing off access to campus. This creates a scenario the Constitution where the Constituiton does not provide clear guidance and therefore the EC has the authority to take action. Given that some of the teams in elimination rounds had byes (which should count for points even if no round occurred) and others had a 50-50 shot at an outround win, Pepperdine proposed to the EC and the EC has accepted a solution that would award the bye teams 3 points for partial Octafinals and 1.5 points for the Qs round they were going to be in and had a 50-50 chance of winning, and gives the teams in partials 1.5 for the 50-50 shot they had of winning that round. It is a modest amount of points but the EC generally determined that it was a good precedent to set that tournaments concluding due to emergency provide points on an equitable basis to the teams that would have had the opportunity to debate but for the emergency.
