There seems to be some confusion as to how to calculate your fees for the NDT. Basically, you must pay for every person in attendance. Each person is either a participant or an observer. To determine whether your people are participants or observers, count four people for each team as a participant ($50.00 each) and all additional people as an observer ($115.00).
Another way to think about it is that each team costs $300.00 -- the $100.00 team fee that covers the administrative costs of running the tournament, and a $50.00 per person for four people fee, which covers a portion of the food costs. The $115.00 for the observers represents the actual cost of all the meal functions. The participant fee is lower because some of the food costs are subsidized by UT, and other generous donors to the tournament. So, if you have one team and five people you owe: $100.00 team fee $200.00 participant fee $115.00 observer fee _________________ $415.00 total fees Please let me know if you have any more questions.
