Python is very well supported by CS and CEL. Apricot uses it as the main
language for game logic.
Crystal Core (once I get time for it) will be ported to Python. I can
certainly recommend it. Pablo
(caedes) has done a lot of work in make the python integration really very
good.

Lots of people do. I think it is one of the main ways to do CS/CEL
development right now.
