You may want to try using Mingw/MSYS instead... in my experience, building
CS on that system goes much more smoothly than on MSVC because it's very
similar to the Linux build.

If you do want to continue using MSVC, someone probably needs to correct the
files that generate the MSVC projects, and then re-generate them. Again, you
can try hacking at this yourself using Mingw/MSYS... (you can generate the
MSVC project files within MSYS as long as you have the MSYS-DTK package
installed, and then you can build it using MSVC)
