Hi all,

Just wondering if there is some reason why math editing has been added as a
PCEnv milestone independent of model editing/creation? In particular, given the
stated benefit of math editing is the creation of models without editing XML -
how can that be achieved without a more complete editing solution?

It would be good to see a complete plan for model editing and how the current
math editing milestone fits into that plan. Even just in regard to editing
math, how will it work with editing equations from imported components? what
happens if you edit an equation in such a way that you break or invalidate the
variable interfaces/connections in a particular component? or add a new
variable to an equation deep inside an import hierarchy? etc...

Seems that so far the discussion on math editing has centred on re-inventing a
new syntax to enable a perceived "easy" method for doing so, but there has been
little discussion on the implications for providing an interface that allows
the fundamental data in a CellML model to be changed independent of all the
supporting information.

As an aside, it is also worth noting that the latest version of JSim now
provides an export to MathML facility (the first step in supporting an export
to CellML).

Subject: [cellml-discussion] Developing a set of milestones for futurereleases
of the PCEnv

Hi all,

I have created a wiki page at:
http://www.cellml.org/tools/pcenv/Milestones

This page is intended to help us develop a set of milestones for what
will be in each version of the PCEnv. It currently just contains a mix
of ideas for milestones that various people have come up with, and
throws in some very rough guesses about how long things will take.

Please feel free to add your own suggestions for milestones, and also
your own benefits / costs to the wiki page (please also send to the
list. If you can't edit the page, you can just send to the list).
Opinions on which items should become milestones, and for which
releases, would also be useful.

Best regards,
Andrew
