My bad, since I obviously agree with that. So, we should have:

(\+|\-|)[0-9]+(\.[0-9]+|)((E|e)(\+|\-|)[0-9]+|) 

And if I have still got the syntax wrong, then please fix it, so we are done
and over with it.
