I agree and I think cells-gtk3 is about ready for "public beta" (in the web 2.0 sense) I will compile a comprehensive "getting started" guide with pointers to all dependencies (we're cutting edge: cells3 from cvs, cffi and opengl from darcs), then I'll look into altering the web page to point at cells-gtk3.
