I had woken up at 7:30AM and had a real dead sleep after the long day yesterday. A short ride down the street to the local Tim's for some coffee and a breakfast sandwich. 8:58AM brings me back to Fairview Cemetery on Stanley St, in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Its sunny and temp has really gone up 53F/ 13C. Hope it doesn't get much hotter, this is just the way I like it. And the scientists are still arguing why and how, its not the old asteroid theory anymore. But what's even more a problem for scientists now, and probably never made the evening news nor your newspaper. About 15 years ago it was discovered, in South America, a set of human foot prints were found crossing a set of dinosaurs foot prints, course these are rock/fossils now and very hard to dispute and they very much screw up history. Frank Rist Born July 5, 1880 and died Jan 22, 1943. The floral beauty in this cemetery is outstanding. I keep stopping to check out the different flowers, and they seem to be at their peak. Smelling them is not always the greatest. Some have no smell, some smell great and some smell like they died years ago. Like that old saying, "don't be fooled by looks" Took many photos of them, you'll eventually get to see. But, you don't get to see the mental snapshots, they're hard to duplicate. You can really enjoy the beauty of a cemetery if your willing to stop and carefully observe the surroundings. You get to observe more than just tombstones, smells, colours, plants, animals, sights, sounds, tastes, if your lucky enough for blackberry season, feel, sometimes of the headstones. Well, as I've already said, there's lots more than just headstones in the cemeteries. 'Ya might even get to see a Cemetery Monster...............LOL and girl joggers.................... Lots of people complain of the condition of some libraries and archives, the yellowing of books and the poor condition that they have become. But think of the Cemeteries, and the thousands of graves that have become, abandoned, broken, green, unreadable, stolen, vandalized. Tim's served up a great chili bowl, buttered bread, large coffee and a Canadian maple donut. That works....................... Back to the motel by 6:23PM, shower and relax till 8PM when Sue calls. Then , gradually fall asleep after a little bit of reading. Another great day with the dead.....................yawn.......................
