if it's really 4.22.1 and not a typo i'd suggest getting at least
version 4.22.9, it works on my freebsd machine.

4.22.1 on fedora 14 .
I can't make AIM work.
I have tried retyping both my username and password repeatedly,
checked it in other chat clients, and even used the server information
for libpurple messengers.
No dice.
I even tried adding @aol.com , even though the FAQ said not to.
What's the next step?
